Balikpapan – The Kalimantan Institute of Technology on (Friday, 13/05/2022) held a press conference led directly by the Chairman of the ITK Senate, namely Nurul Widiastuti S.Si, M.Sc., Ph.D. The press conference held discussed the results of the Senate meeting of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology to the post of Prof. Budi Santosa, Ph.D. The activity was attended by media colleagues, members of the ITK senate, and ITK student representatives.
The attitude statement delivered by Nurul Widiastuti S.Si, M.Sc., Ph.D. regarding the news circulating in the mass media that has an impact on national news is:
- In the senate meeting forum, Prof. Budi Santoso, Ph.D. apologized to the entire community, especially the ITK academic community, because the writing that had been uploaded on the Facebook account on April 27 had caused unrest and could cause a non-positive impression on ITK.
- The writing is the personal opinion of Prof. Budi Santoso, Ph.D. and has nothing to do with his position as rector of ITK. However, ITK as an institution apologised for the incident.
- Prof. Budi Santoso, Ph.D. is a lecturer who owns the ITS Surabaya homebase, so the one who has the authority to process this problem is ITS Surabaya.
- The ITK Senate has sent a letter to the ITS rector as of May 9, 2022 for further resolution of the problem of Prof. Budi Santoso, Ph.D. through ITS mechanisms and regulations.
Prof. Budi Santoso, Ph.D. in this case remains active in carrying out his duties as he should and is currently assisting the study program at ITK in the preparation of International Accreditation. "In general, ITK still poses as usual, even continues to run smoothly, and appeals to the public to remain calm because the process is ongoing", Dr. Muhammad Mashuri (Vice Rector for Non-Academic Affairs).
Regarding the demands of the two ITK students, namely Prof. Budi, to resign from his position as Rector of ITK, but as explained by the Chairman of the ITK Senate, the result of the decision that has the authority is the ITS Senate. And currently carrying out the process that takes place at ITS. So that any demands given are expected by the general public and ITK students to continue to comply with applicable rules and authorities. The ongoing process through the ITK senate which has sent a letter as of May 9, 2022 has been sent to the ITS senate. Then on May 9, 2022, a code of conduct hearing was also held at ITS.
Dr. Muhammad Mashuri said that "It is hoped that the general public can remain patient". And during the ongoing process, Dr. Muhammad Mashuri emphasized to be able to sort out the existing information and information and related to future policies.
