BALIKPAPAN — Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) held a social service activity at Yaumuddin Orphanage on Saturday (October 31, 2026). The activity reflected the organization's commitment to social care while providing an opportunity to share happiness and strengthen relationships with the children at the orphanage.

The arrival of the DWP ITK delegation was warmly welcomed by the children residing at Yaumuddin Orphanage. A cheerful and friendly atmosphere characterized the event, which began with an opening ceremony, a prayer led by an orphanage representative, and welcoming remarks from the Chairperson of DWP ITK, Mrs. Halimah Siwihadi Agus Rubiyanto, followed by a representative of Yaumuddin Orphanage.

In her remarks, the Chairperson of DWP ITK shared words of encouragement with the children, encouraging them to remain enthusiastic about their education, develop their potential, and never give up on pursuing their dreams. She also expressed her hope that the children would grow into successful individuals who could make meaningful contributions to society.

"My dear children, always stay enthusiastic about learning, pursue your dreams as high as you can, and grow into successful individuals who can bring benefits to many people in the future," she said.

As a gesture of care and support, DWP ITK symbolically handed over social assistance to the orphanage management, followed by the distribution of gift packages to the children. The assistance included cash donations, basic necessities, clothing, dolls, stationery, and reading books. These contributions were expected to help meet the children's daily needs and support their learning activities.

The management of Yaumuddin Orphanage warmly welcomed the visit and assistance provided by DWP ITK. They expressed their gratitude and appreciation, emphasizing that the contributions were very helpful in meeting the children's various needs.

"We are very happy and grateful for the visit and assistance from DWP ITK. These contributions mean a great deal to us and are very helpful in meeting the children's needs at the orphanage. May this kindness bring blessings to the entire ITK community," said a representative of Yaumuddin Orphanage.
