FSTI ITK Prepares Graduating Students for the Professional World through the 2026 Graduation Briefing

Balikpapan - The Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSTI) at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) held a Graduation Briefing for prospective graduates of the May 2026 graduation period on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. The event served as both a reflective moment and a final preparation stage for students before entering the professional world and post-campus life.

The activity began with participant registration and welcoming sessions, followed by the opening ceremony, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the ITK Mars, as well as remarks from the Dean of FSTI and the Rector of ITK, who officially opened the event.

In their remarks, the faculty leadership emphasized that FSTI graduates are expected not only to excel academically and technologically, but also to be well-prepared to face the increasingly dynamic challenges of the professional world.

In addition to the presentation of the May 2026 graduate report, the main agenda featured interactive talk show sessions with professional speakers and industry practitioners. The first session featured Ratna Novianti, S.M., CHRM, who discussed career readiness, self-development, and the importance of adaptability and communication skills in the workplace.

The second session was delivered by Subandi, BSc (Hons) IT, who shared insights on challenges within the information technology industry, the growing demand for digital competencies, and the importance of continuous learning for fresh graduates.

The talk show sessions were lively and interactive, with graduating students actively participating and asking questions related to career preparation, recruitment processes, and professional challenges in the era of digital transformation.

The event also became a moment of appreciation for outstanding students. On this occasion, Nurul Adinda Thalia Salsabila, S.Kom from the Information Systems Study Program was announced as the Best Graduate at the Faculty Level with a GPA of 3.76 and the distinction of Cum Laude.

Awards for the best graduates at the study program level were also presented to:

  •  Meylva Astrid Daniar, S.Stat. as the Best Graduate of the Statistics Study Program with a GPA of 3.72. 
  •  Cathrine Christine Damanik, S.Aktr. as the Best Graduate of the Actuarial Science Study Program with a GPA of 3.70. 
  •  Sukma Alief Teguh Hartanto, S.T. as the Best Graduate of the Electrical Engineering Study Program with a GPA of 3.43. 
  •  Istaqom Wirawan Adi Pratama, S.Kom. as the Best Graduate of the Informatics Study Program with a GPA of 3.66. 

FSTI ITK also presented a special appreciation award to Fathoni Fairuz Ramadhan, S.Kom as the recipient of the Highest SK2PM Score at the Faculty Level with a total score of 11,450.

Meanwhile, the award for Participation in Learning Outside the Study Program was presented to Jein Ananda, S.Kom for outstanding participation in off-campus learning activities with a total MBKM credit conversion of 35 credits.

The event concluded with an award presentation ceremony for the outstanding graduates, a group photo session, and the symbolic handover of graduates to the FSTI Alumni Association (IKA FSTI), marking their official transition into the ITK alumni community.

Through the 2026 Graduation Briefing, FSTI ITK hopes its graduates will become adaptive and innovative individuals capable of making meaningful contributions to society, industry, and national development amid the rapid advancement of technology.
