Overall Champion of KRTI 2026

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)

ITS’ achievement as Overall Champion was strengthened by the performance of BAYUCARAKA ITS, which secured First Place in the Fixed Wing Division, First Place in the Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA) Division, and First Honorable Mention in the Technology Development Division.

A representative of ITS said that the achievement was the result of a long development process that had begun the previous year. Results that had not yet met expectations became valuable lessons, encouraging the team to continue conducting research, learning, and refining its aircraft until finally achieving the result they had been working toward at KRTI 2026.

“Our journey to reach this point has been a long one. Since last year, we have continued conducting research, learning from results that did not yet meet our expectations, and making various improvements. The process was certainly exhausting, but it all paid off when we arrived at IKN and achieved the result we had been hoping for. We are deeply grateful and would like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. We hope this achievement will motivate us to keep learning, growing, and producing even better innovations in the future.”

The winners were determined through a series of assessments evaluating each team’s ability to design, develop, and operate its aircraft in accordance with the rules and missions of each division. The KRTI 2026 assessment process involved 20 jury members representing universities, industry, the Indonesian Aero Sport Federation, ASTTA, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, and the Indonesian Air Force at Dhomber Air Base.

Overall, 36 awards were presented across the five KRTI 2026 divisions, including main placements, honorable mentions, and special awards in each category. These awards recognized technical performance, design, safety, strategy, teamwork, innovation, and the technological potential demonstrated by the participating teams.

KRTI 2026 serves as part of Indonesia’s efforts to develop student talent in robotics, unmanned aviation technology, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems. The competition provides students with an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge through aircraft design, testing, system refinement, and direct problem-solving in the field.

The variety of awards presented also demonstrates that the development of unmanned aerial vehicles is not assessed solely on the ability to complete a mission. Safety, design, strategy, innovation, teamwork, and the potential for further technological development are also important elements of the competition.

The achievements of the KRTI 2026 winners are expected to encourage participants to continue developing their innovations beyond the competition. UAV technologies developed by students have the potential to be further refined and applied to a wide range of needs in society, industry, and national development.
