Balikpapan — The Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) held a Socialization of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT) on Friday, 28 November 2025, at the A307 Meeting Room, Building A. The activity was carried out based on the Rector’s Decree Number 5697/IT10/AK.07/2025 regarding the Appointment of the PPKPT Task Force for the 2025–2027 Period, as well as Invitation Letter Number 36734/IT10.TU.05/2025 concerning the implementation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation (Permendikbudristek) Number 55 of 2024. The socialization aimed to provide comprehensive understanding of the duties, functions, and operational mechanisms of the PPKPT Task Force, including the introduction of newly appointed members, types of violence, applicable sanctions, and procedures for reporting cases within the university.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Ir. Khakim Ghozali, M.T., followed by a speech from the Chair of the PPKPT Task Force, Ir. Riyan Benny Sukmara, M.T., who also introduced the newly appointed members of the task force. The core materials were delivered by the Heads of the Prevention and Handling Divisions, covering explanations on types of violence, relevant sanctions, the reporting flowchart, and the mechanisms for handling cases in accordance with Permendikbudristek No. 55/2024. In addition to the presentations, the session also included a discussion and evaluation of student cadre activities, allowing participants to share insights and identify challenges in strengthening violence-prevention efforts.
The activity, attended by the Vice Deans for Academic and Student Affairs, Study Program Coordinators, and the PPKPT Task Force, produced several key outcomes. Participants gained updated information regarding the newly appointed personnel and the task force’s duties, obtained deeper understanding of the types of violence and applicable sanctions, and strengthened their awareness of the reporting procedures to be followed when cases occur. Moreover, the event reinforced a shared commitment to fostering a safe, comfortable, and violence-free campus environment.
Overall, the Socialization of the PPKPT Task Force at ITK proceeded smoothly and according to schedule. The institution encourages follow-up actions including the preparation of more detailed derivative regulations, strengthened coordination with faculties and study programs, and improved preventive measures, particularly in student cadre activities. These collective efforts are expected to enhance a campus culture rooted in integrity, safety, and responsiveness to cases of violence.
