Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has implemented an inclusive and disability-friendly 2026 Computer-Based Written Examination for the National Selection Based on Test (UTBK-SNBT). On the first day of the examination, Tuesday, 21 April 2026, ITK facilitated a deaf participant who took the test in the second session.
The participant, Erma Noviarti, was registered to take the 2026 UTBK-SNBT at Building A, Room ITK 11, during Session 02. As a deaf participant, Erma received special services and assistance from the registration process until entering the examination room.
The ITK UTBK committee ensured that all of the participant’s needs were accommodated so that the examination could proceed smoothly, safely, and comfortably. Assistance was provided by staff at the examination site, including during document verification, directions to the examination room, and throughout the examination process.
The 2026 ITK UTBK organizing committee stated that all participants have equal rights to access higher education, including participants with special needs.
“ITK is committed to providing an inclusive UTBK implementation and the best possible service for all participants. We want to ensure that every participant can take the examination calmly, comfortably, and with equal opportunity,” the committee stated.
In addition to preparing special facilities for participants with disabilities, ITK also strengthened the implementation of the 2026 UTBK-SNBT through multiple layers of screening, the use of metal detectors, and strict supervision in every examination room. ITK is the only UTBK center in Balikpapan, with a total of 4,745 participants taking the examination across 12 sessions in 11 examination rooms.
Through this inclusive implementation, ITK reaffirmed its commitment to providing educational services that are accessible and welcoming to all participants, without exception.
