Balikpapan, June 10, 2026 – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) held a Meeting and Inauguration Ceremony for its Institute Advisory Board at the Auditorium of Integrated Laboratory Building 1. The event marked an important milestone in strengthening collaboration among higher education institutions, government, industry, and society to support ITK’s development as a competitive and excellent institution of higher learning.
The event was attended in person by the Vice Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr. Ir. H. Seno Aji, M.Si., along with other officials from the East Kalimantan Provincial Government. The Chair of Commission X of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Hetifah Sjaifudian, M.P.P., joined the event virtually. Company directors, community leaders, and members of ITK’s leadership were also present.
The program began with a welcoming address by the Rector of ITK, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng. Sc., who presented the institution’s profile, history, achievements, and future development plans. The Rector also highlighted key information that prospective Advisory Board members should understand as a foundation for carrying out their strategic roles in advancing the institution.
The Head of ITK’s Bureau of Academic and General Affairs, Yuspian, S.Sos., M.I.R., then delivered a presentation on the legal basis for establishing the Advisory Board and its organizational working procedures. The presentation outlined the board’s functions, responsibilities, and role in supporting ITK’s governance and development.
The event continued with an introduction session for all Advisory Board members, both those attending in person and virtually. During this session, members introduced their professional backgrounds and areas of expertise as an initial step toward fostering synergy and collaboration.
The forum then proceeded to discussions on the formation of the Advisory Board’s organizational structure. The discussion resulted in the following leadership composition:

As the highlight of the event, a symbolic inauguration ceremony was held through the presentation of ITK pins to representatives of the newly appointed board members. This ceremony officially marked the beginning of the Advisory Board’s service in supporting ITK’s development.
The event concluded with a group photo session as a symbol of the shared commitment to strengthening synergy and collaboration in advancing ITK.
The establishment of the ITK Advisory Board is expected to serve as a strategic step in strengthening the institution’s future development direction. With support from government, industry, community leaders, and other stakeholders, ITK is expected to continue growing into an outstanding and innovative university that contributes significantly to the development of East Kalimantan and Indonesia.
