The rapid advancement of digital technology has brought significant changes to the field of education. However, despite the growing number of online learning platforms, some groups of learners still do not receive educational services tailored to their specific needs. One of these groups is children with intellectual disabilities. Their unique learning characteristics require specialized approaches, methods, and learning media designed to support their development effectively.

In response to this challenge, KidUp was developed as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Adaptive Learning-based digital learning platform designed to support the educational needs of children with intellectual disabilities. This innovation aims to reduce gaps in access to inclusive education while providing a more engaging, interactive, and personalized learning experience for every child.

The development of KidUp was based on observations and interviews conducted with teachers, parents, psychologists, and therapists who work closely with children with intellectual disabilities. These findings revealed several challenges, including difficulties in understanding learning materials, maintaining focus, retaining information, and the limitations faced by teachers and parents in providing effective and sustainable learning resources.

To address these needs, KidUp offers a variety of features that support the learning process. Educational content is presented through an interactive and user-friendly interface specifically designed for children with intellectual disabilities. The platform also incorporates gamification elements to increase learning motivation and engagement. Its AI technology enables learning materials and exercises to be automatically adapted to each child's abilities and developmental progress. In addition, KidUp includes an object recognition feature using a device camera, allowing children to learn about their surroundings in a more enjoyable and interactive way.

KidUp also provides a real-time learning progress monitoring system, enabling teachers and parents to track children's achievements more easily. This feature is complemented by periodic evaluation reports that help determine appropriate learning support strategies. Furthermore, the platform offers consultation services and a community space where parents can share experiences and access information related to supporting children with special educational needs.

Based on usability testing results, the KidUp prototype achieved an average score of 85, earning the Best Imaginable category and Grade Scale A, indicating an excellent level of user acceptance and ease of use.

Through the utilization of inclusive and adaptive technology, KidUp is expected to become an effective learning solution that supports the cognitive development and independence of children with intellectual disabilities. This innovation also represents a concrete step toward creating a more equitable education system, ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve a brighter future.
