The Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) has once again achieved a remarkable milestone through Diva Kirana Salsabilla Puspanyo, a student from the Marine Engineering program. Diva secured 3rd place in the Taekwondo category for U-46 kg Senior Women at the National Sports Week (PON) XXI 2024 held in Aceh-North Sumatra.
This achievement not only marks a significant milestone for Diva but also brings pride to East Kalimantan and ITK on a national level. As Indonesia's largest sporting event, PON XXI serves as a platform for the best athletes from across the country to showcase their talents. Diva, participating in PON for the first time, expressed her pride in competing at such a prestigious event. "Participating in PON XXI 2024 in Aceh-North Sumatra has been an incredible experience. This is my first PON, and I feel proud to represent East Kalimantan at such a significant competition. During the event, I met many outstanding athletes from all over Indonesia, which motivated me to train harder and push myself further," Diva shared.
Although she brought home a bronze medal, Diva stated that this achievement is not the end of her journey. With enthusiasm, she expressed her desire to continue growing and to inspire younger generations. "Winning 3rd place in taekwondo is a very proud achievement, but it’s not the end of my journey. I hope this result can inspire the youth in East Kalimantan to strive for excellence and bring pride to our region on national and international stages. I would like to thank all my coaches, teammates, and family for their unwavering support. I will keep training for even better results in the future!"
Diva's achievement is a testament to the fact that ITK students can compete and excel not only academically but also in sports. The university also expressed high appreciation for Diva's accomplishment and hopes this achievement will motivate other students to develop their talents in various fields.
