Balikpapan, September 14, 2025 – The series of celebrations for the 11th Dies Natalis of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), ITK Art Fest reached its peak with the Music Fest titled "Svaranetra". The event was held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM WITA, at the Food Center Grand City, Balikpapan. The competition was designed as a platform for young musicians throughout East Kalimantan, targeting high school students, university students, and the general public.
The event was officially opened by the Chairman of the 11th ITK Dies Natalis, who also serves as the Dean of FSTI, Mr. Adi Mahmud Jaya Marindra, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. A total of seven bands participated in the competition, showcasing their best talents in front of the judging panel. The seven bands were Dream Wave, Xhaka Groove Band, Pancavimsati Band, The Crimsons, Pulse of Symphony, Question Mark?, and Tumband. The judging was conducted by a panel consisting of Yayan Abubakar, S.Pd., Azhary, and Yun Tonce Kusuma Priyanto, S.T., M.T.
The atmosphere of the evening was further enlivened not only by the performances of the competing bands but also by additional performances from an ITK lecturer band and the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Musik. In fact, some audience members also volunteered to perform. After a rigorous judging session, the winners were finally announced at 9:00 PM WITA.
Pulse of Symphony was crowned as the 1st Place winner, followed by Dream Wave in second place, and The Crimsons in third place. The winners received trophies and certificates handed over directly by the Chairman of the 11th ITK Dies Natalis. Despite facing some initial technical issues, the event as a whole ran smoothly and successfully, providing a valuable experience for both the participants and the audience.
