IKN - The Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) 2026 is set to bring the excitement of a national student aerospace technology competition to Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara (IKN). Held from 21–25 September 2026, the event will bring together 94 UAV teams from 43 universities, involving 373 students from across Indonesia.

The Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has been entrusted as the host of KRTI 2026. Several locations across the IKN area will serve as competition venues and activity sites, making it important for participants and visitors to pay attention to venue locations, nearby parking areas, and the closest shuttle stops before heading to the competition grounds.

KRTI 2026 also offers the public an opportunity to see firsthand how Indonesian university students design, build, and test Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies for a range of flight missions.

KRTI 2026 Is Open to the Public

For members of the public who would like to watch the competition in person, KRTI 2026 provides an exciting opportunity to learn more about the development of UAV technology in Indonesia.

Visitors will be able to watch various competition divisions at designated venues. As each division is held at a different location, visitors are encouraged to check the competition map, schedule, parking locations, and nearby shuttle stops before arriving.

For those unable to attend in person, information regarding the official competition live stream will be announced through the organizer’s official channels.

Competition Venues for KRTI 2026

Opening & Closing

Venue: Multi Function Hall, Coordinating Ministry Building 3
 Nearest Parking: Coordinating Ministry Buildings 3 and 4 Parking Areas
 Nearest Shuttle Stop: Coordinating Ministry Building 3 Stop

The Multi Function Hall at Coordinating Ministry Building 3 will host the opening and closing ceremonies of KRTI 2026.

Technology Development

Venue: Multi Function Hall, Coordinating Ministry Building 3
 Nearest Parking: Coordinating Ministry Buildings 3 and 4 Parking Areas
 Nearest Shuttle Stop: Coordinating Ministry Building 3 Stop

The Technology Development division provides a platform for students to showcase technological innovations and supporting systems developed for UAV applications.

Racing Plane

Venue: Road Section 6C
 Nearest Parking: OIKN Office / Road 6C Parking Area (TBA)
Nearest Shuttle Stop: Vice Presidential Palace Stop

In this division, UAV performance is tested through flight challenges that demand speed, maneuverability, and optimal system performance.

As the parking arrangement for the Racing Plane venue is still marked TBA, visitors are advised to check the latest official information before heading to the venue.

Long Endurance Low Altitude (LELA)

Venue: PUPR National Axis Area and Bank Indonesia Building
 Nearest Parking: Taman Kusuma Bangsa Parking Area
 Nearest Shuttle Stop: Bank Indonesia Stop / East Shared Street Bus Stop

The LELA division evaluates UAVs designed to operate at low altitude while maintaining endurance and stable performance throughout the mission.

Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL)

Venue: Plaza Seremoni Field

 Nearest Shuttle Stop: Coordinating Ministry Building 3 Stop

The VTOL division features UAV technology capable of taking off and landing vertically. Its unique flight characteristics make this one of the most interesting divisions to watch in person.

Fixed Wing (FW)

Venue: PUPR National Axis Area and Bank Indonesia Building

 Nearest Shuttle Stop: Bank Indonesia Stop / East Shared Street Bus Stop

The Fixed Wing division features unmanned aircraft with fixed-wing configurations designed to complete specific competition missions and flight challenges.

Student Technology Put to the Test in IKN

Holding KRTI 2026 in the IKN area gives this year’s competition a distinctive context.

UAV technology now has a wide range of potential applications, including regional mapping, environmental monitoring, disaster mitigation, infrastructure inspection, agriculture, and logistics distribution.

Through this competition, technological ideas developed by university students are given the opportunity to be tested directly in a national-level arena.

KRTI also serves as a meeting point for students, academic supervisors, universities, government institutions, technology communities, and the wider public within one collaborative innovation ecosystem.
