ITSF Opens 2026 Research Grant and Science & Technology Award Programs

Balikpapan — The Indonesia Toray Science Foundation (ITSF) has officially opened the 33rd ITSF Program 2026 as part of its support for the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia. This program provides opportunities for researchers, including lecturers at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), to receive research funding support as well as recognition for their scientific contributions in the fields of natural sciences and technology. This year, two programs are available, namely the Science & Technology Research Grant and the Science & Technology Award. Both programs aim to encourage the development of research, innovation, and scientific contributions that have a meaningful impact on the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.

Science & Technology Research Grant

The Science & Technology Research Grant is a research funding program intended for young researchers in the field of pure natural sciences. This program is designed for researchers who have a strong interest and commitment to developing science in Indonesia. The general requirements for this program include a research team consisting of at least two researchers, with both the principal investigator and team members being under 45 years old as of January 1, 2027. Applicants must reside and conduct their research in Indonesia. In addition, the Principal Investigator (PI) may only submit one proposal within the same fiscal year. Through this program, grant recipients may receive funding of up to IDR 50,000,000 per proposal for a grant duration of one year.

Science & Technology Award

The Science & Technology Award is an award program for scientists in the fields of natural sciences and technology who have made significant contributions or breakthroughs in scientific development. This program is open to Indonesian researchers who reside in Indonesia, have made significant breakthroughs in the fields of natural sciences and technology, and are nominated by a research institution or higher education institution. Recipients of the Science & Technology Award will receive a certificate and a cash prize of IDR 100,000,000.

Submission Deadline and Mechanism

Proposals and nominations for the 33rd ITSF Program 2026 must be submitted no later than August 31, 2026, at 5:00 PM WIB. Submissions can be made through the following links:
