Nusantara, January 31, 2026 - The Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) took part in a historic moment commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), held in conjunction with the Isra Mi’raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 H. The event was organized by the Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) of East Kalimantan and took place at the Multi Function Hall, Kemenko III Building, Nusantara Capital City (IKN).
On this occasion, ITK Rector Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc. attended the event in person as a form of institutional support and active participation in religious and national activities within the IKN area. ITK’s presence reaffirmed the role of public universities as an integral part of the moral, intellectual, and spiritual ecosystem in the development of Indonesia’s new capital.
The event was attended by a number of national and regional figures, including Dr. Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN); H. Seno Aji, Vice Governor of East Kalimantan; and the prominent Islamic scholar Prof. Dr. KH. Asep Saifuddin Chalim, MA, Chairman of PERGUNU PBNU. Their presence reinforced the spirit of synergy between religious scholars (ulama), government leaders (umara), and academics in guiding the nation’s development.
The program proceeded in a solemn and reverent atmosphere, beginning with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, shalawat, followed by istighotsah and collective prayers led by Kyai Kholil. The prayers conveyed hopes that future leaders and bureaucrats who will serve and reside in IKN be granted patience, wisdom, and justice in carrying out their responsibilities for the welfare of the Indonesian people.
Special prayers were also offered for the education sector, including the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, so that it may continue to be a campus blessed in fulfilling its strategic role in educating the nation’s best young generation, advancing science and technology, and contributing meaningfully to sustainable development in Kalimantan and Indonesia.
Through its participation in this event, ITK reaffirmed its commitment not only to excellence in academics and research, but also to actively instilling spiritual values, national identity, and local wisdom in every aspect of its community engagement. In line with the spirit of “Safeguarding Indonesia’s Independence Towards a Noble Civilization,” ITK stands ready to contribute as a center of knowledge supporting the development of an equitable, inclusive, and sustainable Nusantara Capital City.
