Balikpapan – In addition to industry and state owned enterprise (SOE/BUMN) scholarships, the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) also provides a range of government and national scholarships that play a vital role in ensuring inclusive and sustainable access to higher education. These scholarship programs are designed to support students from diverse backgrounds in pursuing their studies without financial constraints, while also fostering the development of high quality human resources for national development.

In line with the spirit of Diktisaintek Berdampak, government and national scholarships focus not only on financial assistance, but also on promoting equal opportunities, social justice, and the strengthening of Indonesia’s young generation.

The following are several active government and national scholarships that can be utilized by ITK students:

1. Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah

KIP Kuliah is a government-funded scholarship program for academically talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This scholarship covers tuition fees (UKT) and provides monthly living allowances throughout the study period.

Through KIP Kuliah, students are expected to focus on academic development and achievement without being burdened by financial challenges.

2. Afirmasi Pendidikan Tinggi (ADik) & ADik Disabilitas

The ADik Scholarship is intended for students from underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions (3T), as well as certain targeted community groups. Meanwhile, ADik Disabilitas provides specific support for students with disabilities to ensure equal and inclusive access to higher education.

These affirmative programs reflect the government’s strong commitment to expanding educational access and reducing regional and social disparities.

3. Tuition Fee Assistance Scholarship (UKT Assistance)

The Tuition Fee Assistance Scholarship is granted to students who experience financial difficulties in paying their tuition fees during the ongoing semester. This assistance aims to ensure the continuity of students’ studies and prevent temporary financial constraints from hindering academic progress.

Information regarding this scheme is usually announced periodically by the university or local governments in accordance with applicable policies.

4. Educational Cost Assistance

Educational Cost Assistance serves as additional financial support for students with specific conditions or needs. This assistance may be provided on a one-time or periodic basis, depending on the policies of the government or the awarding institution.

This program reflects concern for the sustainability of students’ education and ensures that no student is forced to discontinue their studies due to financial limitations.

5. Beasiswa Unggulan (Excellence Scholarship)

The Beasiswa Unggulan is a national scholarship program for students with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements. It aims to support the development of exceptional talents who are expected to become agents of change and actively contribute to national development.

This scholarship may include educational funding as well as capacity-building and personal development support for its recipients.

ITK’s Commitment to Impactful Education

Through various government and national scholarship programs, ITK reaffirms its commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable, and impactful higher education. Scholarships are not merely financial aid, but strategic instruments to prepare students for holistic development—academically, socially, and professionally.

ITK students are encouraged to actively monitor scholarship information through the official ITK website and government scholarship portals, and to prepare the required documents early in order to optimally seize available opportunities.
