Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has officially announced three prospective rector candidates who have met the administrative requirements for the selection of the ITK Rector for the 2026–2030 term. The results were published through Announcement Number 20494/IT10/OT.06/2026, following the verification and determination process conducted during an ITK Senate Meeting.
The three prospective candidates are Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Abadi, S.T., M.T. from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Dr. Ir. Moch. Purwanto, S.Si., M.Si. from Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), and Prof. Dr. Agung Purniawan, S.T., M.Eng. from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS).
The determination was based on Regulation of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2017 concerning the Appointment and Dismissal of Leaders of State Universities, ITK Senate Regulation Number 1 of 2026, and the minutes of the ITK Senate Meeting on the final verification results of the administrative requirements for prospective rector candidates.
The three candidates are eligible to proceed to the next stages of the ITK Rector Selection for the 2026–2030 term in accordance with the applicable provisions and schedule. The selection process is an important step in determining ITK’s leadership for the next four years and in strengthening the institution’s contributions to education, research, innovation, and community service.
However, as the number of candidates who passed the administrative screening has not yet reached the minimum requirement, the ITK Rector Selection Committee has extended the registration period. The extension provides another opportunity for eligible candidates to participate in the selection process.
Information regarding the extended registration schedule, candidate profiles, requirements, and subsequent stages of the selection process is available on the official ITK Rector Selection portal at pilrek.itk.ac.id. Further updates will also be published regularly through the official communication channels of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan.
