Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan has once again opened opportunities for researchers, academics, professionals, and students to participate in the international event, the 6th BICAME – Borneo International Conference 2026. Carrying the theme “Impactful Innovation: Smart Technologies for Environmental and Economic Resilience,” the conference invites participants to contribute research and innovations that provide tangible solutions for environmental and economic resilience.

BICAME 2026 serves as an international scientific forum that brings together ideas, research findings, and cross-disciplinary innovations. This year, the organizing committee has officially opened the Call for Papers for both domestic and international participants.

The conference will take place on 16–17 September 2026 at Grand Jatra Hotel Balikpapan. The event is expected to become a collaborative platform where researchers can exchange ideas and strengthen academic networks, particularly in addressing the challenges of sustainable development.

This year’s conference consists of two main symposium clusters: Symposium on Applied Mathematics and Engineering Technology (SAMET) and Symposium on Digital Innovation, Sustainable Design, and Planning (DSP).

The SAMET symposium covers topics such as renewable energy, energy storage and conversion, engineering modeling and simulation, artificial intelligence and information technology, advanced materials, food and agricultural science, marine science and technology, applied physics and mathematics, telecommunication and electronics, supply chain management, health and safety, as well as mechanical and civil engineering.

Meanwhile, the DSP symposium focuses on smart governance and economy, waste and water management, environmental sustainability, land and water resource engineering, smart building and landscape systems, sustainable urban and rural development, marketing management, visual communication design, and multimedia.

The committee has set 15 May 2026 as the abstract submission deadline. Notification of abstract acceptance will be announced on 22 May 2026, while accepted authors are required to submit their full papers no later than 17 July 2026.

Selected papers from BICAME 2026 will be published in Scopus-indexed proceedings through Scientific.net as well as in nationally accredited journals ranked SINTA 2–4. This publication opportunity is expected to provide added value for participants in disseminating their research at both national and international levels.
