Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) strengthened its international research network through the “Diaspora Berdampak: Indonesia–Taiwan Research Collaboration” program, held on 11–18 August 2026 at Room D104, ITK. The program served as a platform for knowledge exchange and the development of collaborative research opportunities between ITK and NUST, particularly in the field of advanced functional materials.
The event featured Iman Adipurnama, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, as the speaker, with Andromeda Dwi Laksono, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the host. Participants gained insights into recent developments in functional materials research and explored potential opportunities for joint research within the Indonesia–Taiwan academic network.
ITK’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration was also reflected in the attendance of Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Erma Suryani, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Eng. Lusi Ernawati, S.T., M.Sc., and Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs Jatmoko Awali, S.T., M.T. The program was also attended by lecturers and students from the Materials and Metallurgical Engineering Study Program.
Beyond the presentation session, the program featured interactive discussions involving the speaker, lecturers, and students. The exchange of perspectives was expected to broaden students’ understanding of global research developments while encouraging new research ideas that could be further developed through international collaboration.
Through Diaspora Berdampak, ITK continues to promote the internationalization of education and research by connecting its academic community with Indonesian scholars working abroad. The collaboration is expected to go beyond knowledge exchange and develop into joint research, scientific publications, and academic mobility opportunities that contribute meaningfully to the advancement of science and technology.
