ITK Firm and Transparent: The PPKPT Task Force Officially Established

Balikpapan – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) Reaffirms Its Commitment to a Safe, Inclusive, and Violence Free Campus Environment Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and violence-free academic environment. Through an open and accountable process, ITK has carried out a series of stages to establish the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT), in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 55 of 2024 concerning the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions.

This initiative serves as a concrete manifestation of transparency, participation, and public accountability within the campus, while also strengthening a culture of justice, empathy, and protection for all members of the academic community.

Initial Stage: Open Selection for Task Force Candidates 

The formation of the PPKPT Task Force began with the issuance of Announcement Number: 22264/IT10/TU.02/2025 regarding the Selection of Candidates for the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence at Institut Teknologi Kalimantan. The announcement invited participation from three key groups  lecturers, education staff, and students to apply as prospective members of the Task Force. Registration was open from 21 to 25 July 2025 via ITK’s official website: https://s.itk.ac.id/daftarcalonsatgasppk
Administrative selection was conducted from 28 to 30 July 2025, with results publicly announced on 31 July 2025. Each applicant was required to meet integrity and legal criteria, including having no history of violence, not being under disciplinary or criminal sanction, and obtaining formal recommendations from authorized campus officials.

Second Stage: Public Review of Task Force Candidates 

As part of its public transparency process, ITK conducted a Public Review of PPKPT Task Force Candidates, as outlined in Announcement Number: 642/IT10/TU.02/2025. The event took place on 5–6 August 2025 online via Zoom through the link https://s.itk.ac.id/ujipubliksatgas2025
The public review aimed to provide an open forum for ITK’s academic community and the public to give feedback on the candidates. Participants included lecturers, education staff, and students. The event was chaired by representatives from the Rectorate and featured interactive discussion and evaluation sessions.

Through this public review process, ITK demonstrated its commitment to transparency and accountability in decision making, ensuring that each Task Force member possesses the integrity, capacity, and dedication necessary to advance violence prevention efforts within the campus.

Final Stage: Official Appointment of the ITK PPKPT Task Force 

The final stage of the process was the official appointment of the Task Force through Rector’s Decree Number: 5697/IT10/AK.07/2025 concerning the Establishment of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT) at ITK for the 2025–2027 Academic Period. The Task Force is mandated to implement preventive, responsive, and restorative measures against all forms of violence within the campus. The official composition of the team is as follows:

Division of Violence Prevention:

Division of Violence Handling:

  • Mega Pratiwi, M.Pd. (Head of Division)
  • Yuvita Lira Vesta Arista, S.T.P., M.Si.
  • Umar Mustofa, S.Pd., M.Sc.

This appointment marks an important milestone in ensuring that mechanisms for preventing and addressing violence at ITK operate effectively, professionally, and fairly. The Task Force is responsible for assisting the university leadership in developing preventive guidelines, conducting outreach and education, receiving and processing reports, and coordinating with related service units.

Through the establishment of the PPKPT Task Force, ITK reaffirms its identity as a responsive and proactive institution in addressing issues of violence while fostering a healthy, equitable, and inclusive learning environment.

Through the PPKPT Task Force, ITK is committed to becoming a national example in implementing effective policies for violence prevention within higher education in line with the spirit of a Safe, Responsive, and Empathetic Campus.
