Balikpapan – The Rector Election process for the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) for the 2026–2030 term has entered a new phase. The ITK Rector Election Committee has officially announced four Rector Candidates who have successfully met all administrative requirements and are eligible to proceed to the next stage of the selection process after completing the required screening and document verification in accordance with the applicable regulations.

The announcement is stipulated in Announcement No. 18864/IT.10/TU.01/2026 concerning the Results of the Administrative Selection for Candidates for Rector of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan for the 2026–2030 Term, issued on July 6, 2026. This stage marks an important milestone in the rector election process, which is conducted in a transparent, objective, orderly, and accountable manner.

The four candidates who successfully passed the administrative selection are:

1. Prof. Dr. Aswan, S.T., M.T. – Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) 
2. Prof. Dr. Ir. Imam Abadi, S.T., M.T. – Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) 
3. Dr. Ir. Moch. Purwanto, S.Si., M.Si. – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) 
4. Prof. Dr. Ir. Agung Purniawan, S.T., M.Eng. – Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) 

The four candidates will next enter the objection period, scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 9, 2026. During this stage, eligible stakeholders are given the opportunity to submit objections or feedback in accordance with the procedures established for the ITK Rector Election.

Following the objection period, the ITK Rector Election Committee will proceed with the announcement of the screening results on July 20, 2026. This stage will determine the list of candidates who will advance to the subsequent phases of the Rector Election for the 2026–2030 term.

Through an election process that upholds the principles of transparency, objectivity, and accountability, ITK is committed to selecting a leader capable of guiding the institution toward becoming a more competitive, innovative, and globally recognized technological university. The academic community and all stakeholders are also encouraged to actively support and oversee every stage of the election process to ensure it is conducted in accordance with the established regulations.
