Machine failures in industrial environments are often preceded by abnormal vibrations that cannot be detected visually. Addressing this issue, I Made Ivan Wiyarta Cakra Sujana has developed an Arduino-based machine vibration measurement device using the ADXL345 sensor as an early monitoring system to help prevent machine failure.

Machine Vibration as a Performance Indicator

Vibration is one of the key indicators in assessing the condition and performance of industrial machinery. Excessive vibration can lead to component wear, reduced efficiency, and severe damage that may impact operational safety and maintenance costs.

However, commercial vibration measurement instruments are generally expensive and less accessible for educational purposes. This condition highlights the need for alternative measurement solutions based on simple, affordable, and reliable technology for machine condition monitoring.

Arduino and ADXL345 Sensor as a Practical Solution

Through this research, I Made Ivan Wiyarta Cakra Sujana utilized advances in microcontroller technology to design an independent vibration monitoring system. Arduino was selected as the main controller due to its flexibility, ease of programming, and suitability for both academic learning and real-world applications.

The ADXL345 sensor used in this system is a three-axis accelerometer capable of detecting acceleration changes and vibrations in real time. The vibration data can be processed into meaningful information about machine conditions, enabling early detection of imbalance, misalignment, or potential damage before critical failures occur.

Simple Innovation with Real Impact

The development of this Arduino-based machine vibration measurement device demonstrates that simple technology can provide practical solutions for industrial challenges. Through this research, I Made Ivan Wiyarta Cakra Sujana not only contributes to learning in electronics and instrumentation but also supports early machine damage prevention through an effective and efficient monitoring system.
