Balikpapan, July 4, 2025 — The morning atmosphere on the Integrated Laboratory Building yard at ITK was vibrant with energy. This was the scene of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) activity, organized by the Faculty of Sustainable Development (FPB) of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), featuring the therapeutic exercise: Ling Tien Kung.

This activity, which began at 07:00 WITA, serves as a concrete manifestation of ITK's commitment to instilling a healthy and active lifestyle among its academic community. More than just regular exercise, Ling Tien Kung is known as a therapeutic movement technique that emphasizes breathing, body flexibility, and "anus clenching"—a unique movement believed to stimulate joint health and internal organs.

Leading the morning's activity was Mr. Suardi, an ITK Marine Engineering lecturer also known as a Ling Tien Kung practitioner. Under his guidance, participants followed each movement, from light warm-ups and stretches to body tapping believed to improve blood circulation and relieve muscle tension.

Also present at the activity were the Rector of ITK, Prof. Agus Rubiyanto, and the Head of the Academic and General Bureau, Mr. Yuspian. The presence of these campus leaders demonstrated full support for health programs that directly impact the daily lives of lecturers and educational staff.

In his remarks, Prof. Agus stated that ITK is not only tasked with developing technology and knowledge but also has a responsibility to build physically and mentally healthy individuals.

"Sustainable development isn't just about technology or the environment; it's also about people. Through Germas and Ling Tien Kung, we are instilling a spirit of healthy living that will be a crucial foundation for the campus's future," he passionately declared.

This series of activities also served as an opportunity to strengthen camaraderie within the workplace. Lecturers, administrative staff, and campus leaders were all immersed in the same spirit: healthy, happy, and balanced living.

On a separate occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Sustainable Development, Mr. Alamsyah, affirmed that programs like this will continue to be implemented regularly. According to him, creating a healthy campus begins with small habits consistently practiced.

The event concluded with a group photo session and a light, healthy breakfast, a sweet ending to a morning full of positive energy. With small steps like these, ITK is steadily building a sustainable campus that is not only intellectually smart but also holistically healthy.
