BALIKPAPAN – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), in collaboration with the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPK) through its Directorate of Education Networks, held the award ceremony for the 2026 Sketch Your Integrity (SYI) Comic Competition on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the Auditorium of Building A, ITK Campus. Attended by around 150 students, the event marked the culmination of a comic competition focusing on integrity and anti-corruption values.

ITK is one of three universities partnering with KPK in this competition. The two other partner institutions are the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Bali and ISI Surakarta, which are also holding similar competition series.

Carrying the theme “Maintaining Integrity through Creativity,” SYI ITK 2026 attracted 13 individual and group participants from ITK students. Through comics, participants expressed ideas and experiences related to integrity, transparency, and anti-corruption in a visual format that is accessible and relatable to young audiences.

The selected works will later be compiled into a comic anthology as a supporting medium for broader and more engaging anti-corruption education.

The event was opened by the Dean of ITK’s Faculty of Sustainable Development, Ir. Alamsyah, S.T., M.T., who reaffirmed ITK’s support for strengthening anti-corruption education within higher education institutions. ITK Vice Rector II, Ir. Khakim Ghozali, M.MT., was also present.

KPK Commissioner Ibnu Basuki Widodo said the competition represented one approach to anti-corruption education through art and creativity. According to him, anti-corruption messages do not always have to focus on legal provisions or corruption offenses, but can also address everyday behavior that is closely connected to students’ lives.

“Anti-corruption education starts with small things, by not getting used to taking advantage of even the smallest things dishonestly. If we are accustomed to being honest, then even when an opportunity arises, we will not misuse it,” he said.

He also encouraged students to speak up with confidence while continuously strengthening their integrity and knowledge as part of their contribution to society.

At the end of the event, four winning entries were announced. First Place was awarded to No Jiplak-Jiplak Club, represented by Vito Zilanayo and Nailah Nazhifah. Second Place went to Salma Hayek Safira, Third Place to Margareta Estin, while the Honorable Mention was awarded to Team 2RN, consisting of Reva Islami Budiman, Muhammad Rizky, and Nabil Nugroho Justisiko.

In addition to the award announcement, the event featured an exhibition of finalist works and a talk show entitled “Bincang Asik Integritas Mahasiswa”, featuring KPK Director of Education Networks Dian Novianthi and professional comic artist Adelia Maghfira.

Adelia highlighted comics as an effective medium for communicating messages of honesty while also expressing social concerns. She emphasized that producing meaningful creative work requires dedication and discipline so that the message can resonate with readers.

Meanwhile, Dian Novianthi encouraged young people to remain courageous and attentive to social issues. She stated that KPK would continue supporting programs that provide students with opportunities to play an active role in strengthening a culture of integrity.

The program was supported by the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice Phase 3 (AIPJ3). Through collaboration among KPK, ITK, and various partners, higher education institutions are expected to play an increasingly active role in fostering a culture of integrity and encouraging students to communicate anti-corruption values through creative and relevant approaches.
