ITK Participates in Mahasiswa Kaltim Goes to IKN 2025, Strengthening the Role of Young Engineers Toward East Kalimantan’s Golden Generation

NUSANTARA CAPITAL, December 22, 2025 – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) participated in the Mahasiswa Kaltim Goes to IKN 2025 program, themed “Strengthening the Independence of Engineers with Integrity, Capacity, and Quality to Support IKN as a Symbol of a New Civilization toward East Kalimantan’s Golden Generation.” The activity was held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the Ministry Coordinating Building 3, Multifunction Hall, Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

ITK took part in the event under the direct leadership of ITK Rector Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., accompanied by faculty deans, and 39 ITK students  as a form of support for strengthening students’ competence and insight in the field of engineering.

The event began at 09:45 WITA with a report from the Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Public Housing Office (PUPR-Pera) of East Kalimantan Province, represented by the Head of the Construction Services Empowerment and Information Section, Ir. Marini, S.T., M.M. This was followed by remarks from the representative of the Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr. Aji Muhammad Fitra Firnanda, S.T., M.M., in his capacity as Head of the PUPR-Pera Office of East Kalimantan Province. The event was officially opened by the representative of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Aswin Grandiarto Sukahar, S.T., MBEnv, Deputy for Infrastructure Facilities.

The program featured a series of presentations by national speakers discussing the strategic role of engineers in national development and the development of IKN. Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., delivered material from the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) regarding professional engineering practice. He emphasized that every engineer is required to possess an Engineer Registration Certificate (SKI/STRI), comply with the professional code of ethics, and understand legal aspects as an early warning mechanism against potential criminal or civil liabilities in engineering practice.

The next session was delivered by Dr. Ing. Ir. Ilham Akbar Habibie, MBA., IPU, who presented the topic “Engineers as Key Actors in Realizing Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045 through Reindustrialization and Digitalization.” The presentation highlighted the importance of producing engineers who are competent, adaptive, and innovative in facing industrial and digital transformation.

The following session was presented by Dr. (HC.) Ir. H. Mochs. Basuki Hadimuljono, who delivered material entitled “Strengthening Engineers with Integrity, Capacity, and Quality to Support IKN as a Symbol of a New Civilization toward East Kalimantan’s Golden Generation.” In his presentation, he emphasized the role of independent and principled engineers as the main drivers of development, in line with the theme “From East Kalimantan to the Archipelago: Independent and Character-Driven Engineers as Movers of Indonesia’s New Civilization.”

Through its participation in Mahasiswa Kaltim Goes to IKN 2025, ITK reaffirmed its commitment to preparing superior human resources in the field of engineering who are ethical, professional, and competitive. This activity is expected to strengthen the role of ITK students and graduates in supporting the development of the Nusantara Capital City and in realizing East Kalimantan as part of Indonesia’s golden generation.
