Friday, February 21, 2025, the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) successfully held the RCI X PKT Goes To Campus Chapter Regional Management 1 Kalimantan and Eastern Indonesia event. The event took place at the Auditorium of Building A ITK, with the overarching theme Challenges and Opportunities in the Industrial World to Achieve Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Digital Transformation.

This activity aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of the importance of workplace safety in industries. During the event, students had the opportunity to gain insights into how the industrial world continues to evolve, the challenges it faces in creating sustainable systems, implementing a circular economy, and adapting to the rapid digital transformation.

As part of this event, the participants were presented with highly relevant topics regarding the current developments in the industrial sector. Among the topics discussed were:

  1. Respons Care Indonesia Introduction, which provided an overview of the initiatives by Respons Care Indonesia in supporting workplace health and safety in Indonesia.
  2. Introduction to Chemical Security in Industry and Academia, which highlighted the importance of chemical management and security in industrial settings to prevent accidents.
  3. Sustainability & Circular Economy, which delved into the concepts of sustainable economy and circular economy and their implementation in the industrial world.
  4. Introduction to the Industrial World & Occupational Safety and Health (K3), which offered insights into the industrial sector and the significance of implementing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) systems to prevent accidents and other risks.
  5. Clean Methanol Production Industry, which discussed the processes and technologies in clean methanol production, supporting environmental sustainability goals.

The event featured speakers who are experts in their respective fields, including OHS practitioners from various sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and energy, as well as academics with expertise in occupational health and safety. Their valuable insights provided the students with essential knowledge about the industrial world and how they can contribute to creating safer and more sustainable workplaces.

After the presentations, the event continued with a Q&A session where students had the opportunity to ask questions related to the topics presented. Students showed great enthusiasm in posing questions about workplace safety, the latest industrial technologies, and the challenges facing industries in achieving sustainability.

This event is expected to strengthen students' understanding of the industrial world and equip them with knowledge about the importance of workplace safety and their role in creating safer, more sustainable, and digital industries. It also served as a great platform to foster collaboration between academia and the industry, which benefits both sectors.

By organizing this event, ITK hopes that students will be better prepared to face challenges in the industrial world and play an active role in implementing workplace safety, sustainability, and circular economy principles in the future.
