Balikpapan, May 2, 2025 — The Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) held a National Education Day (Hardiknas) ceremony on the morning of Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Laboratory Complex Courtyard (Labter). The ceremony was marked by a solemn atmosphere and a strong spirit of unity under the warmth of the morning sun.
The event was attended by the entire ITK academic community, including lecturers, administrative staff, and students. Adding to the vibrancy of the event, participants wore traditional clothing representing Indonesia’s diverse cultural heritage, creating a colorful and festive atmosphere that symbolized national unity in diversity.
The ceremony was led directly by the Rector of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan, serving as the ceremony inspector. ITK’s education support staff served as ceremony officers and carried out their roles with discipline and dedication. The entire event proceeded smoothly and in an orderly manner.
This year’s National Education Day carries the theme:
“Universal Participation in Realizing Quality Education for All.”
The theme is a call to collective action, emphasizing that education cannot be achieved by one party alone. Government efforts must be supported by the public, schools must collaborate with families, and universities must be closely connected to industries and communities.
The ceremony concluded with a reminder of the nation’s direction through a statement from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, who emphasized:
"Only a nation that masters science and technology will become a prosperous nation."
The ceremony served not only as a tribute to the nation’s educators and their contributions but also as a reflection of ITK’s continued commitment to advancing education that is inclusive, culturally grounded, and globally competitive.
