Balikpapan, February 9, 2025 – The Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) hosted a visit from a delegation of South China Agricultural University, Guangxi University of Science and Technology, and Huilai Bao Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for discussions on further collaboration in education, science, and technology. The event took place in the LPPM ITK Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the Integrated Laboratory Building 1.
This visit was a follow-up to a previous meeting held by ITK representatives in China in May 2023. Delegates from the three Chinese institutions expressed their intention to strengthen cooperation in several strategic fields, including technological innovation, joint research, and the development of agricultural mechanization and manufacturing.
The event began with a visit to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) by the invited guests, accompanied by the ITK LPPM team. Afterward, the cooperation discussion was opened by MC Diniar Mungil Kurniawati, S.T., M.T., followed by a video presentation about ITK. ITK Rector, Prof. Dr. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., warmly welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized the importance of international cooperation in education and research.
During the event, representatives from various Chinese institutions also delivered speeches, including Mr. Lei Wenzhong (CEO of PT. Julong Group), Mr. Lianqi Wang (Chairman of Huilai Bao Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.), Prof. Shan Zeng (Director of the Southern Rice Production Mechanization Research Base), and Prof. Qiaoming Gao (Senior Engineer at Guangxi University of Science and Technology). They expressed their commitment to supporting synergies between universities and industries to create technological innovations beneficial for both countries.
As a token of appreciation, ITK presented commemorative plaques to the delegates, followed by a group photo session. The Head of LPPM ITK, Dr. Eng. Yunita Triana, M.Si., then presented various research and community service programs currently being developed at ITK. The cooperation discussion was moderated by Riki Herliansyah, S.Si., M.Stats., Ph.D., who explored various opportunities for collaboration in research and technology development.
The event concluded with a dinner and a visit to the ITK laboratories, where guests had the opportunity to tour the available research facilities on campus. This visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between ITK and Chinese institutions, as well as open up wider opportunities for future cooperation in education and technology.
