Makassar – The Bengo-Bengo Education Forest at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) was buzzing with national spirit. A total of 177 students from various parts of Indonesia, consisting of 85 males and 92 females, gathered for the opening of the 13th National Community Service Program (KKN) in 2025. The opening ceremony was lively and took place on July 2, 2025.
The National KKN is a fantastic program that brings together students from diverse campuses to jointly serve the community. Its goals are clear: to hone national identity, strengthen friendships among students, and apply knowledge gained in university to solve real-world problems in society.
This year, Unhas is hosting the event with an exciting theme: "World Heritage Cultural Tourism as a National Action: Impactful Campus Serving the Nation." There are six main focus areas that the students will work on, including:
The opening ceremony was attended by top officials from Unhas, representatives from the Maros Regency Government, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek), as well as leaders and field supervisors from the 99 participating universities.
ITK is also participating in this National KKN. ITK representatives present at the opening included Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Erma Suryani, Head of the Community Service Center Risty Jayanti Yuniar, and Head of the National Cooperation Center Olivia Febrianty Ngabito.
Not only that, but ITK also sent two accomplished students from the Ocean Engineering study program, namely Rahmat Firsandi and Muhammad Malik Kharim. They will be ITK's ambassadors in their month-long dedication.
The KKN activities will take place from July 1 to July 30, 2025, with service locations spread across two beautiful regions in South Sulawesi: Pangkep Regency and Maros Regency. We hope this activity runs smoothly and has a positive impact on the community!
