Balikpapan - Muhammad Fauzan Putra, a student of the Urban and Regional Planning (PWK) Study Program at ITK, class of 2022, once again brought pride to the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan after being selected as one of the top 60 participants in the Future Leader Camp (FLC) 2025 Regional V. The program, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, serves as a national leadership development forum aimed at cultivating young leaders with critical thinking skills, innovation capacity, and strong commitment to advancing Indonesia.

From hundreds of applicants across Regional V, Fauzan successfully passed the rigorous selection process through an essay highlighting his contributions in the field of education via UKM ITK Mengajar, as well as his vision for a more inclusive and equitable future for Indonesian education. This achievement positions Fauzan as a representative of ITK with notable leadership experience and strong personal development potential.

The FLC activities will take place on 25–28 November 2025 in Denpasar, Bali, featuring a series of thematic sessions led by prominent national figures. Several keynote speakers include Brian Yuliarto (Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology), Imam Santoso (ITB lecturer and expert in storytelling and public communication), Ismail Hasani (SETARA Institute), Cania Citta (Malaka Project), Agung Wicaksono (PT Pertamina), and Rizky Arief Dwi (CEO & Founder of HMNS). These sessions are designed to shape young leaders who are visionary, data-driven, and capable of generating meaningful social impact toward Indonesia Emas 2045.

Fauzan stated that his motivation for joining the program stems from his desire to deepen his understanding of leadership and the role of change-makers, both within the campus environment and in broader societal and national development contexts. He prepared for the selection by crafting a narrative essay about his journey and contributions, as well as completing all required administrative documents.

Through this achievement, Fauzan hopes to inspire more ITK students to seize new opportunities and develop their leadership potential. “I hope more future leaders from ITK will grow and develop through student activities, organizations, and competitions. Anyone can become anything so don’t be afraid to try,” he said.

This accomplishment demonstrates that ITK students, particularly those from the PWK program, have strong competitiveness at the national level and the ability to contribute as part of Indonesia’s next generation of leaders.
