Balikpapan - The academic community of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) has once again made its mark on the national stage. This time, the outstanding achievement comes from 2024 student Diva Kirana Salsabilla Puspanyo, who successfully won first place in the XIX National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) Taekwondo competition held by Udinus in Semarang (GOR UDINUS Satria Sport Center), Central Java.
POMNAS is the largest multi-sport event for students in Indonesia. Diva's success at the national level is clear evidence of ITK students' ability to excel in non-academic fields, particularly sports.
Diva Kirana, accompanied by her advisor Luh Putri Adnyani, S.T., M.T., MRINA, said that intensive preparation was the key. “I trained independently on a regular basis for 1 month,” said Diva. She also revealed that her biggest motivation was “To be able to excel in non-academic fields and bring pride to the university.”
The POMNAS event itself promotes noble ideals, namely “Athlete development, strengthening student character, and sports development” at the national level. Diva views her participation as an innovative platform that not only showcases competition but also builds well-rounded student character in both academic and non-academic fields.
When asked about her impressions, Diva expressed deep pride. “Participating in POMNAS was an extraordinary experience. I feel proud to represent ITK and compete alongside students from all over Indonesia,” she said.
Furthermore, Diva Kirana delivered a powerful message to all ITK students. “I hope that other ITK students will be motivated to be active, both academically and non-academically. Don't hesitate to develop your potential, because every achievement is a shared pride.”
The ITK Rector and the entire administration expressed high appreciation for Diva Kirana Salsabilla Puspanyo's achievement. This accomplishment is hoped to inspire other ITK students to continue innovating and excelling, making ITK a leading campus in various aspects.
