Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has marked another important milestone in strengthening its campus entrepreneurship ecosystem. The ITK Technology Business Incubator (IBT ITK) has officially been registered in the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia’s Incubation Information Registration and Evaluation System as of August 11, 2026, under Registration Number 20266471014.
This achievement represents an important milestone for IBT ITK in building a more professional, measurable, and sustainable business incubation system. The registration is not merely an administrative requirement, but also provides IBT ITK with access to the national incubation information and evaluation system.
Through this system, the performance and capacity of business incubators will be evaluated more comprehensively. The assessment does not only consider the existence of incubation programs, but also examines the quality of the incubation process, tenant mentoring, business development, and the impact generated for the MSMEs and startups being supported.
For IBT ITK, this registration serves as an initial step toward continuously improving the quality of incubator management while strengthening its role as a growth platform for students, the academic community, and entrepreneurs seeking to develop their ideas into more mature and sustainable businesses.
This achievement was made possible through the support of various parties, including ITK’s leadership, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), lecturers, educational staff, students, mentors, partners, and all stakeholders who have contributed to the development of entrepreneurship programs and ecosystems at ITK.
Moving forward, IBT ITK aims to go beyond the registration stage. Strengthening the incubation process, improving the quality of mentoring, and supporting tenants to grow into independent and competitive businesses will become key priorities in the continued development of IBT ITK.
This milestone also reinforces ITK’s commitment to developing an innovation-driven entrepreneurship ecosystem that can make a tangible contribution to the growth of MSMEs, startups, and the broader economy, particularly in East Kalimantan.
With IBT ITK now officially registered in the Ministry of MSMEs incubation system, its journey toward becoming a more professional, measurable, and impactful incubation institution has entered a new chapter. From the university environment, various ideas and innovations are expected to continue growing into sustainable ventures that deliver broader benefits to society.
