ITK Rector Inaugurated as Member of the Forum of Indonesian Rectors (FRI) 2025–2026, Strengthening the University's National Role

Jakarta – The Rector of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., was officially inaugurated as one of the executive board members of the Forum of Indonesian Rectors (Forum Rektor Indonesia/FRI) for the 2025–2026 term. The inauguration was led by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., during the FRI Executive Board Inauguration and National Dialogue held at Hall, 2nd Floor, Building D, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Jakarta, on Monday (July 6, 2026).

The appointment marks an important milestone for ITK in expanding its role at the national level. Through its participation in FRI, ITK not only represents a leading technological university in Kalimantan but also becomes part of a strategic national network that contributes to shaping higher education policies, strengthening collaboration, and accelerating the transformation of Indonesia's higher education sector.

The inauguration was attended by rectors and higher education leaders from universities across Indonesia. Based on the attachment to the Forum of Indonesian Rectors invitation letter No. 05/FRI/VI/2026, the ITK Rector was listed among the FRI executive board members alongside more than 200 university leaders nationwide.

The event also featured a National Dialogue under the theme, "The Relevance of Higher Education as a Center of Excellence for Innovation: Strengthening Synergy among Academia, Industry, and Government." The discussion emphasized the strategic role of higher education institutions as hubs for ideas, research, and innovation capable of addressing national development challenges.

For ITK, participation in FRI provides a strategic platform to strengthen the University's contribution to the development of Kalimantan and Indonesia. As a technology-focused university located in the strategic region supporting the development of Indonesia's new capital, Nusantara, ITK continues to advance research excellence, technological innovation, industrial collaboration, and the development of highly competent human resources.

Based on the Forum of Indonesian Rectors Decree No. 01/FRI/XII/2025 on the Executive Board of the Forum of Indonesian Rectors for the 2025–2026 Term, ITK Rector Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc. was appointed as a Member of the Regional Development Working Group under the Commission for Community Development, Socio-Political Affairs, and Environment. This appointment reflects the Forum's confidence in ITK's contribution to advancing regional development through collaboration in higher education, research, and innovation, particularly in Kalimantan as one of Indonesia's strategic development regions. 

Through this inauguration, ITK is expected to play an even more active role in fostering collaboration among universities, government institutions, industry, and other stakeholders. The Rector's appointment to the FRI executive board also reflects ITK's commitment to promoting a higher education ecosystem that is adaptive, collaborative, innovative, and impactful for society.
