Synergy between ITK and Kutai Kartanegara Regency in the MOU and PKS Audiences

Samarinda, 07 August 2025 - The Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) and the Government of Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Kukar) have held an audience for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS). The meeting took place at the official residence of the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara, at the Pendopo Odah Etam.

The audience was attended directly by the Regent of Kutai Katanegara, dr. Aulia Rahman Basri, M. Kes, along with several relevant heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). The OPDs present included:

  • Solihin, .SH, .MT (Head of the Communication and Information Office) 
  • Sukotjo, .SE (Head of the BPKAD) 
  • Rokip (Head of the BKPSDM) 
  • Ismed, S.Hut, M.Si (Head of the Prokom Section) 
  • Ismi Nurul Huda, SP, MM (Head of the Cooperation Section) 
  • Yani Wardana (Head of the Government Administration Section) 

The ITK delegation consisted of:

  • Ir. Alamsyah, S.T., M.T. (Dean of the Faculty of Sustainable Development ITK) 
  • Dr. Ir. Hijriah, S.T., M.T. (Vice Dean for Academic and Studenfairs ITK) 
  • Dr. Eng. Ir., Arief Hidayat, S.T., M.S.P., M.T. (Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs ITK) 
  • Ir. Suardi, S.T., M.T. (Head of the Maritime Technology Department, FPB ITK) 
  • Mohtana Kharisma Kadri, S.T., M.Eng. (Head of the Civil and Planning Engineering Department, FPB ITK) 
  • Olivia Febrianty Ngabito, M.Sn (Head of the ITK Cooperation Center) 

During the meeting, ITK offered an MOU and PKS, which was positively received by the regent of Kukar and his staff. The Dean of the FPB ITK and his staff explained that the MOU and PKS audience is a part of ITK's effort to implement its Key Performance Indicator, namely "Impactful Campus" (read "Merdeka Campus"). They also mentioned that there are approximately 500 students from Kutai Kartanegara Regency currently pursuing their undergraduate education at ITK.

On the same occasion, the regent of Kukar requested support in the areas of bioenergy, urban planning, and agricultural food. It was also mentioned that there will be a development of a new city in the Jonggon area. Additionally, the construction of a shipyard was discussed to accommodate the repair of barges and tugboats that frequently pass through the Kukar government's area.
