Balikpapan, October 10, 2025 — Students from SMK Cendekia Al Izzah carried out an educational visit to the Integrated Laboratory Building 2 of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK). The visit aimed to provide firsthand insights into the world of research, technology application, and the importance of laboratory safety for young learners. The visit was officially received by Mr. Suputro Dewo and Mr. Muhammad Nurhidayatur Rozikin, representing the Public Relations Division of ITK, accompanied by laboratory technicians from the Integrated Laboratory Building. They warmly welcomed the group and introduced the campus profile, laboratory work ethics, and ITK’s safety culture.
The activity began in the Safety Room with a presentation on occupational safety and laboratory safety induction. In this session, students learned about the importance of using personal protective equipment (PPE), handling emergency situations, and preventing accidents in research environments. Next, participants toured several of ITK’s advanced laboratories, including the Energy Laboratory, Advanced Physics Laboratory, Material Characterization Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, and Basic Physics Laboratory. In each lab, the students received hands-on explanations from technicians about the equipment, ongoing research, and real-world technological applications.
The visit concluded with a group photo in front of the Integrated Laboratory Building 2, symbolizing collaboration and a spirit of lifelong learning between vocational education and higher education institutions.
