Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) took part in the Signing Ceremony for the Commitment to Cooperation in Expanding Export Market Access for MSMEs, held as part of the opening of the 2026 Nusantara Sharia Economic Week (PESAN) on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The event was organized by Bank Indonesia Representative Office in Balikpapan.
ITK was represented by the Head of the Technology Business Incubator Center (IBT) ITK, [Name], who attended on behalf of the leadership of Institut Teknologi Kalimantan. ITK’s participation reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting the strengthening of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, downstreaming innovation, and expanding collaborative networks for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
PESAN 2026 carried the theme “Synergy to Accelerate Sustainable and Competitive Sharia Economic and Financial Growth.” The event was attended by various stakeholders, including regional government representatives, mayors and regents along with their respective officials, Bank Indonesia, ministries and government agencies, the Nusantara Capital Authority, higher education institutions, financial institutions, business associations, and MSME actors from various regions across East Kalimantan.
Through this forum, stakeholders were encouraged to strengthen synergy in developing an inclusive, sustainable, and competitive sharia economy, while also enhancing the competitiveness of MSMEs and opening wider market access, including export opportunities.
The Head of IBT ITK, [Name], stated that ITK’s involvement in the event aligns with the role of higher education institutions in strengthening the capacity of business actors through mentoring, technological innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.
“ITK’s presence in this event reflects our support for strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, particularly for MSMEs, so they can grow more adaptively, innovatively, and competitively in broader markets. Through IBT ITK, we see significant opportunities for collaboration in promoting innovation downstreaming and MSME mentoring, including efforts to explore export market access,” he/she said.
He/she added that higher education institutions have a strategic role in delivering science- and technology-based solutions for MSME development. Collaboration with the government, Bank Indonesia, financial institutions, the business sector, and industry is an important step to ensure that innovations developed within the university can create real benefits for the community.
Through its participation in PESAN 2026, ITK reaffirmed its commitment to supporting innovation-based entrepreneurship development. ITK’s presence also opens opportunities for strategic cooperation in expanding market access for assisted MSMEs, strengthening export networks, and encouraging the university’s contribution to regional economic growth and the development of a more competitive East Kalimantan.
