Balikpapan - The ITK Open House 2026 was officially concluded with a series of lively closing events held at the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan campus. Over the course of two days, the program demonstrated strong public enthusiasm in exploring academic life, laboratory facilities, and the university environment firsthand.
Visitor participation remained significant throughout the event. On the first day, attendance was distributed across Building E with 216 visitors, Building F with 236 visitors, and Building G with 209 visitors. On the second day, participation increased, with Building G welcoming 372 visitors, Building F receiving 528 visitors, and Building E recording 389 visitors. The opening session was attended by 956 participants, while the opening integrated with laboratory visits reached 1,271 participants. In total, overall participation throughout the event amounted to 2,560 visitors.
The closing ceremony featured several agenda items, including reflection remarks and the presentation of awards to student organizations and academic units that stood out during the event. The Favorite Student Activity Unit award was presented to ITK Mengajar, while the Favorite Study Program award was earned by the Electrical Engineering program. Meanwhile, the Favorite Faculty award was granted to the Faculty of Science and Information Technology.
The closing sequence continued with student entertainment performances that enlivened the atmosphere before the event was officially concluded by the organizing committee. The success of the event reflects the collaboration of various stakeholders in introducing the academic environment to the wider community and strengthening engagement between higher education institutions and prospective students.
With strong participation and well-managed execution, ITK Open House is expected to remain a strategic platform for showcasing academic potential and institutional innovation to the public in the years ahead.
