Balikpapan - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) welcomed a delegation from Universitas Teuku Umar as part of an effort to explore institutional collaboration and strengthen inter-university relations. The meeting was held at Meeting Room A1, Building A, ITK, and was attended by leaders from both universities.
From Universitas Teuku Umar, the delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Ishak, M.Si., Rector of Universitas Teuku Umar, accompanied by Dr. Ir. M. Aman Yaman, M.Agric., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, and Rinaldi Iswan, S.T., M.Sc., Head of the Bureau of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Cooperation.
Meanwhile, ITK was represented by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., Rector of ITK; Prof. Erma Suryani, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs; Ir. Khakim Ghozali, M.MT., Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs; Yuspian, S.Sos., M.I.R., Head of the Bureau of Academic and General Affairs; Maryo Inri Pratama, S.T., M.T., Secretary of LPPM ITK; and Olivia Febrianty Ngabito, S.Sn., M.Sn., Head of ITK’s National Cooperation Center.
During the meeting, ITK and Universitas Teuku Umar discussed potential collaborations in academics, research, community service, and institutional capacity building. The partnership is expected to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, network expansion, and stronger contributions from higher education institutions to society.
Rector of ITK, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc., emphasized that inter-university collaboration should be built on the spirit of mutual cooperation and trust. He stated that collaboration is a key foundation for realizing impactful higher education, both at the national level and within broader academic networks.
Rector of Universitas Teuku Umar, Prof. Dr. Ishak, M.Si., also highlighted the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions in responding to future challenges. Universitas Teuku Umar has strong potential in the agro and marine sectors, which can be synergized with ITK’s strengths in technology development, research, and innovation.
Through this meeting, both universities hope to follow up the collaboration exploration with more concrete programs. The synergy between ITK and Universitas Teuku Umar is expected to benefit the academic community, strengthen the quality of the Tridharma of higher education, and open wider opportunities for regional and national development.
