Balikpapan, August 9, 2026 — Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) officially concluded the Studi Pengenalan Institut dan Etika Akademik Mahasiswa (SPIn-ETAM) 2026 on Sunday (9/8). A total of 2,201 new students from 24 provinces across Indonesia were officially declared members of the ITK community after successfully completing the entire SPIn-ETAM program.
The closing ceremony was held at the ITK Laboratory Field and attended by several faculty leaders as well as the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) ITK. The event marked the end of the campus introduction program and the beginning of the new students’ academic journey at ITK.
The event began with presentations from each study program representing ITK’s three faculties: the Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSTI), Faculty of Sustainable Development (FPB), and Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology (FRTI). These presentations provided each study program with an opportunity to introduce its identity, spirit, and academic focus to the new students.
The ceremony continued with remarks from the Rector of ITK, represented by Head of the ITK Bureau, Yuspian, S.Sos., M.I.R. In his remarks, Yuspian personally congratulated all new students for successfully completing the entire series of SPIn-ETAM activities.
The conclusion of SPIn-ETAM was more than the closing of an orientation program; it marked the beginning of a new chapter for 2,201 new students as they embark on their academic and personal development journey at ITK. Coming from 24 provinces, their diverse backgrounds represent an important part of building an inclusive, collaborative, and dynamic campus environment.
The closing atmosphere became even more lively with a performance by ITK Musik, featuring some of its best bands. The entertainment provided a joyful conclusion to the SPIn-ETAM series and created a memorable moment of togetherness before the students begin their academic activities.
With the conclusion of SPIn-ETAM 2026, 2,201 new students officially take their place as members of the ITK family. Welcome to ITK, new students! It is time to begin the journey, develop your potential, and grow together into a generation capable of contributing to technological advancement and Indonesia’s development.
