Cindy Lionita Agusty is known as a lecturer in the Naval Architecture Study Program at ITK (Kalimantan Institute of Technology). But who would have thought that the figure now standing behind the classroom podium once sat in the very same seats as ITK students do today? Striving, growing, and dreaming big.

Cindy's journey began in 2016 when she officially became a Naval Architecture student at ITK. But for her, ITK was more than just a place to acquire technical knowledge. "I gained so many other things at ITK," she recalls. "Like soft skills, networking, problem-solving, how to deal with others, and many other things." ITK taught her more than just theory; she learned to be a resilient and adaptable individual.

Graduating from ITK didn't mean her journey was over. Cindy went further, pursuing her master's degree at Hasanuddin University while simultaneously building her career. She faced significant challenges, such as complex course material, coupled with demanding time management, as she had to divide herself between studying and working.

"Focus was key," she said. She learned to prioritize and balance her life. This is where the skills she acquired from ITK proved their worth: public speaking, time management, and organizational experience were all immensely helpful in managing her daily activities as both a student and a professional.

Now, Cindy teaches where she once learned. "My job is closely related to my old study program," she proudly states. She not only shares knowledge but also passion. Her return to ITK is a form of contribution and dedication.

For ITK students aspiring to pursue further studies, Cindy shares a simple but meaningful message:

"Build relationships with every stakeholder and segment of society. Maintain a balance between hard skills & soft skills, as well as academic and non-academic pursuits. Don't be afraid to ask questions, ask for help. Be a useful person. Manage your time and future expectations wisely."

Cindy's story proves one thing: our journey is never far from where we began. Sometimes, coming home is the highest form of achievement. And for those of you still on your journey, don't worry, slowly but surely, you'll get there too.
