Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) officially opened its 11th Anniversary series through a festive Opening Ceremony held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Integrated Laboratory Building Field. The event took place right after the commemoration ceremony of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day, adding solemnity and togetherness in celebrating these two significant moments.

The program began with an opening by the MC and a performance by the ITK choir, presenting regional songs and the ITK March, which successfully evoked pride in both national and campus identity.

A Meaningful Address

On this occasion, the Chair of the Anniversary Committee, who also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Adi Mahmud Jaya Marindra, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., delivered an opening speech to mark the beginning of ITK’s 11th Anniversary activities.

This was followed by a speech from the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Erma Suryani, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. In her remarks, she emphasized that ITK’s 11-year journey is a true testament to the dedication of the entire academic community.

“In its 11-year journey, ITK has demonstrated remarkable progress. Various achievements have been attained, both nationally and internationally. Today, ITK has also established a new postgraduate program in Technology Management (MMT). All of this is inseparable from the hard work and dedication of the entire ITK academic community. Therefore, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has fought and contributed to advancing ITK. Let us make this anniversary a moment of reflection and self-introspection. How far have we contributed to ITK? How far have we realized our shared vision and spirit? Let us strengthen our enthusiasm, reinforce collaboration, and continue to innovate for a brighter future for ITK,” expressed Prof. Erma.

Symbolic Opening and Flag Parade

The celebration continued with a lively flag parade symbolizing the spirit of unity, followed by the symbolic opening of ITK’s 11th Anniversary. The festivities closed with a band performance, bringing a youthful and vibrant atmosphere closer to the students.

Towards SPECTA DAY

The excitement of the Anniversary Celebration did not stop there, as it carried on with various competitions during SPECTA DAY, serving as a platform for students to showcase creativity, sportsmanship, and strengthen the bonds of togetherness.
