Nabila Gadistia is a student of Industrial Engineering, class of 2024, with a deep passion for sports, especially dancesport. One of her favorite dance styles is UCWDC line dance. For Nabila, this dance style allows her to connect with music, rhythm, and body movements. Through line dance, she can express herself creatively while also developing discipline and physical skills. Moreover, participating in dance competitions provides her with the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who share her passion.
Nabila's interest in dance began back when she was in third grade, with a particular fondness for dancing. In her second year of high school, she discovered country line dance, which led her to join Nirmala Studio, IODI BPN, and ILDI Kaltim. From there, her involvement in the dance world grew, and she participated in various competitions to hone her skills.
Nabila’s biggest inspiration comes from her coach, Ka Asbar, who earned the Superstar title in 2024. Nabila is highly motivated to follow in Coach Ka Asbar's footsteps and achieve similar success. Coach Ka Asbar has provided incredible encouragement and support, pushing her to stay focused during her training. Nabila believes that without his guidance, her dream of becoming a Superstar in the Line Dance UCWDC World Championship 2025 wouldn’t be possible.
Nabila receives immense support from her family. They have always been there to encourage her to develop her dance talent, whether in terms of time, financial support, prayers, or motivation. Additionally, her friends and dance community consistently offer her moral support, sending her good wishes and prayers during every competition she participates in.
One of the major competitions Nabila participated in is the UCWDC World Country Dance World Championship, which will take place in Orlando, Florida, from December 29, 2024, to January 5, 2025. This prestigious competition, organized by the United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC), gathers dancers and teams from around the world to compete in various dance categories such as Country Dance, Line Dance, and Partner Dance. Nabila clinched 1st place in both the Solo Advance Female Open and Solo Showcase Female Open categories.
The event is attended by dancers from various countries, competing in solo or partner categories. The judges are international experts with extensive experience and high reputations in the dance world.
The goal of the UCWDC World Championship is to enhance creativity and the quality of dance, particularly in the country and western genres. Additionally, this event fosters international collaboration among dancers and dance communities from different countries while promoting dance culture through healthy competition and achievement-based recognition. For Nabila, this competition is not only an opportunity to showcase her talents but also a chance to represent Indonesia on the global stage.
