BOGOR, Indonesia – The National Instrumentation Center for Agriculture and Bioscience (NICAB) 2025 Workshop is currently underway at the IPB International Convention Center, running from July 23 to 25, 2025. This annual event, themed "Instrumentation Center for Advancement Of Research, Education, and Public Service," aims to facilitate enhanced collaboration and in-depth knowledge exchange between Indonesian and Korean stakeholders, particularly in the vital fields of agriculture and bioscience.
A pivotal session on the workshop agenda is the Rectors' Forum, scheduled for July 23, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM WIB. During this forum, Professor Agus Rubiyanto, Rector of the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK), will serve as a prominent speaker. Along with his colleagues, Yunita Triana and Adi Mahmud Jaya Marindra, Professor Rubiyanto will deliver a crucial presentation titled "Supporting Nusantara's Development through Research and Revenue-Generating Laboratory Facilities at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology." This presentation is highly relevant given the urgency and complexity of developing the New Capital City (IKN) Nusantara, and ITK's potential contributions to research, education, and public service in this context.
The workshop's program is comprehensively designed, featuring a diverse range of distinguished speakers and significant international participation. Dr. Dadan Hindayana (BGN) is slated to deliver a keynote speech on the national initiative "Free Nutritious Meal in Indonesia," offering valuable insights into food security and nutrition policies that impact public service. Complementing this, Mr. Changsu Choi (GAFI) will present Korea's eco-friendly school meal service model. These sessions provide an excellent platform for understanding best practices in school meal services from a Korean perspective and identifying potential areas for collaborative projects and bilateral cooperation programs between Indonesia and Korea, particularly as they relate to education and public service.
A key highlight of the workshop is the active participation of over 17 leading Korean companies specializing in laboratory equipment and food and bioscience diagnostics. These companies will showcase their latest innovations and technologies at dedicated booths, offering a valuable opportunity for universities, research institutions, and other entities to explore the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment at competitive prices. This directly supports the advancement of research and education in the respective fields.
Furthermore, the presence of three professors from Seoul National University (SNU), including Professor Tae Jin Yang, Director General of the Institutes of Green Bio Science and Technology, further enriches the discussions and potential for academic collaboration. Overall, the NICAB 2025 Workshop reinforces its position as a crucial event for advancing research, education, and public service in agriculture and bioscience, while simultaneously strengthening the foundations of robust international partnerships. The event is anticipated to yield highly productive and engaging outcomes for all involved parties.
