Balikpapan — A total of 93 participants from approximately 58 state universities and polytechnics across Indonesia took part in a visit to Nusantara Capital City (IKN) on Friday, June 5, 2026. The visit was part of the 2026 National Coordination Meeting of the Forum of Heads of Bureaus/Directors of General Affairs, Human Resources, and Finance of State Universities and Polytechnics across Indonesia, hosted by Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK).
The visit served as the closing agenda of the program and provided participants with a direct introduction to the IKN area. Previously, the forum had functioned as a space for coordination and the exchange of best practices in managing general affairs, human resources, and finance within state universities and polytechnics.
The series of activities began in the morning with registration and departure preparation in Balikpapan. Participants then traveled to IKN to attend an audience session with the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN). The agenda included remarks from the Head of the Bureau Forum, remarks from OIKN representatives, a discussion session, plaque presentation, and a group photo.
After the agenda with OIKN, participants continued the program with lunch and Friday prayer at the State Mosque. The visit then proceeded to the State Palace area as part of a direct introduction to one of the strategic areas in IKN.
Through this visit, participants gained firsthand experience of the IKN area while also expanding inter-institutional networks. The activity also served as an opportunity for ITK, as the host institution, to introduce the strategic position of East Kalimantan as a supporting region for IKN and as a national collaboration space for state universities and polytechnics in Indonesia.
