Balikpapan, July 11, 2025 – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) has once again achieved a brilliant national-level accomplishment. Awanda Adel Liyanto Putri (Mathematics, Class of 2022) and Tegar Dwi Nugraha (Mathematics, Class of 2023) successfully secured bronze medals at the Mathematical Analysis and Geometry Day (MaG-D) XVI 2025. This prestigious competition was organized by Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) on June 14, 2025.
Awanda and Tegar, who competed in one of Indonesia's most esteemed mathematics competitions, demonstrated their strong commitment to developing their competencies in analysis and geometry. They explained that their participation in MaG-D XVI 2025 was not merely about winning, but about honing their critical, logical, and systematic thinking skills in solving advanced mathematical problems.
"This activity was a very valuable opportunity for us to academically evaluate our understanding, improve our teamwork skills in a competitive situation, and broaden our horizons through interaction with participants from various universities across Indonesia," said Awanda. She also added her hope of gaining new perspectives from experts in the fields of analysis and geometry through the public lectures held during the MaG-D event.
This achievement is expected not only to bring recognition to ITK at the national level but also to motivate other students to continue developing and excelling in the field of mathematics.
Participating in MaG-D XVI 2025 was a very memorable experience for both Awanda and Tegar. They expressed that through this activity, they not only sharpened their academic abilities but also learned to collaborate, think quickly, and adapt in competitive situations.
"Meeting participants from various universities in Indonesia gave us additional motivation to keep learning and growing. We are proud to have represented Institut Teknologi Kalimantan in this national-scale event," Tegar stated.
Awanda, Tegar, and ITK hope that events like MaG-D can continue to be held annually with an even broader scope. They also hope that more students from diverse backgrounds can participate to foster a spirit of learning and a love for mathematics.
