Balikpapan, August 31, 2025 - In celebration of its 11th Anniversary, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) held the lively and collaborative GERMAS (Healthy Living Community Movement) Social Project.

The event was a huge success, with participation from various groups, including high-ranking ITK officials, representatives from PT. Ghaswa, and community members living near the ITK campus. From ITK, the event was attended by the Rector, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng, the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Ir. Khakim Ghozali, M.MT, the Head of the Academic and General Affairs Bureau, Yuspian, S.Sos., M.I.R, the Deans of various faculties, and other academic staff. PT. Ghaswa was represented by M. John Ismail Sembiring Brahmana, S. Pd, who helped make the event a success as the main sponsor.

The activities kicked off with participant registration at 06.30 WITA. At 07.00 WITA, the event was officially opened by the Master of Ceremony. The series of events continued with a prayer, followed by speeches from a senior official of PT. Ghaswa and the Rector of ITK. This was followed by the symbolic inauguration of the new ITK road, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The atmosphere became even livelier with the Interactive Morning Aerobics session led by a professional instructor to the rhythm of energetic music. This 30-minute session was a great way for participants to re-energize. The event continued with a 15-minute break, giving everyone a chance to rest.

In addition, to support the commitment to healthy living, the event also provided a free health check-up session that was open for a full two hours, from 09.40 to 11.40 WITA. This session gave participants the opportunity to get basic check-ups as a first step in monitoring their health. Concurrently, door prizes and entertainment were provided to participants, adding to the excitement of the event.

The GERMAS Social Project concluded at 11.40 WITA. The event, held by the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) as part of its 11th Anniversary, was more than just a celebration. Behind every activity was a great hope: to foster awareness and a commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

With these goals in mind, it is hoped that the GERMAS Social Project will become an annual tradition that continues to inspire more people to take small steps toward a healthier life.
