Balikpapan – Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) welcomed an educational visit from SMAIT Tri Sukses Generus (TSG) Balikpapan on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The visit, attended by approximately 55 twelfth-grade students, provided an opportunity for students to gain firsthand insights into university life, explore available study programs, and discover the learning and research facilities at ITK.

The visit began with an introduction to ITK delivered by M. Nurhidayatur Rozikin, a staff member of ITK's Public Relations and Protocol Office. During the presentation, students learned about ITK's history and development, faculties and study programs, student achievements, campus facilities, and various opportunities to pursue higher education.

The session also introduced students to ITK's university admission pathways, including the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), and ITK's Independent Admission Selection (SUMMIT ITK). Information about scholarship opportunities and student activities was also presented to provide a broader understanding of the opportunities available for personal and academic development throughout university life.

The session was conducted in an interactive atmosphere, with Ulfa serving as the master of ceremonies and campus tour guide. Students had the opportunity to learn more about campus life and gather valuable information to help them make informed decisions about their educational paths after graduating from high school.

Beyond the introductory session, students were invited to explore several of ITK's laboratory facilities. Coordinated by Novianti Rossalina, the laboratory tour included Characterization Laboratory A, the STL Laboratory, the Civil Engineering Laboratory, the Food Technology Laboratory, and the Energy Laboratory.

Through these visits, students gained firsthand exposure to practical learning and research environments that support academic activities at ITK. The experience demonstrated that education in science and technology extends beyond theoretical classroom learning and involves laboratory experiments, material testing, and innovative research.

The campus visit also served as an opportunity for students to connect their interests and career aspirations with academic disciplines offered at the university. Exploring the laboratory facilities was expected to inspire curiosity and encourage greater interest in scientific and technological development.

By welcoming SMAIT Tri Sukses Generus Balikpapan, ITK continues to provide opportunities for high school students to explore higher education. The initiative also reflects ITK's commitment to expanding access to university information and encouraging younger generations to prepare for their next educational journey in line with their interests, potential, and future aspirations.
