IKN – The Final Round of the 2026 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) is entering its competition phase. After completing the technical meeting, arena readiness checks, aircraft inspections, and flight tests on Tuesday (September 22, 2026), a total of 94 finalist teams are set to begin competing on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) at several locations across Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

The technical meeting served as an important stage before the competition officially began. During the session, participants received technical briefings and drew their performance order for each division. Teams, organizers, and judges also conducted final checks on the competition arenas and aircraft to ensure readiness for the official matches.

The KRTI 2026 Final features five competition divisions: Fixed Wing (FW), Racing Plane (RP), Technology Development (TD), Vertical Take Off Landing (VTOL), and Long Endurance and Low Altitude (LELA). The five divisions are distributed across four main competition locations in IKN, according to the technical requirements and characteristics of each category.

The Fixed Wing and LELA divisions are held at the PUPR National Axis Area and Bank Indonesia Building, while the Racing Plane division takes place at the West Axis Roundabout Parking Area. The Technology Development division is centered at the Coordinating Ministry 3 Meeting Room, while the VTOL competition is held at the Ceremony Plaza Field.

The distribution of competition venues has become one of the distinctive features of this year’s KRTI Final. Participants are challenged not only to demonstrate their ability to design and develop unmanned aerial vehicles, but also to adapt their strategies and aircraft performance to the different characteristics of each competition arena.

Starting Wednesday, the competitive atmosphere is expected to intensify as all teams begin showcasing the best performance of the aircraft they have developed. Months of preparation, testing, evaluation, and refinement will now be put to the test in the actual competition.

Holding the KRTI 2026 Final in IKN also creates a meeting point for student innovation from across Indonesia. Through the five divisions, finalist teams present various approaches to unmanned aerial vehicle technology, with the hope that these innovations will continue to grow beyond the competition and contribute to broader technological development.

As the competition begins on September 23, 2026, 94 teams are ready to take their innovations to the skies, bringing with them the spirit of competition, sportsmanship, and the advancement of Indonesia’s student aerospace technology.
