Balikpapan, June 21, 2025 – The series of events for the 2025 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Forum of University Leaders in Student Affairs (FORPIMAWA) culminated with a tree-planting activity in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) on Saturday, June 21. This event, held at the Nusantara Capital City Authority building, served not only as the official closing of the Rakornas but also as a strong symbol of the Indonesian higher education sector's commitment to supporting IKN's development as a sustainable and environmentally friendly city.
The tree-planting ceremony was attended by participants of the 2025 FORPIMAWA Rakornas from various universities across Indonesia, along with the Head of the Nusantara Capital City Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, and the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Dikti Saintek), Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. The presence of these high-ranking officials underscored the government's support for the strategic role of higher education in realizing IKN's vision.
Vice Minister of Dikti Saintek, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd, symbolically planted the first tree. In his remarks, he emphasized that this activity was not merely a ceremony but a representation of the spirit of collaboration between the government and higher education institutions to build a better future for the nation.
"This tree planting symbolizes that higher education is fully committed to contributing to the development of a green, smart, and sustainable Nusantara Capital City," stated Prof. Fauzan. "This is the beginning of our tangible contribution to building an innovation ecosystem and superior talent that will support IKN as a global city for all."
The tree-planting activity also served as an opportunity to introduce the Nusantara Capital City to the FORPIMAWA 2025 participants. By directly experiencing the atmosphere and observing the progress of IKN's development, it is hoped that these leaders in student affairs will gain a deeper understanding of IKN's vision and mission, inspiring them to guide students to contribute to the nation's future development.
Concluding the 2025 FORPIMAWA Rakornas with this meaningful activity reaffirms a shared commitment to producing a young generation that is not only academically competent but also environmentally conscious and enthusiastic about making concrete contributions to national development, starting with the Nusantara Capital City.
