Bangkok, Thailand - Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) once again demonstrated its presence on the international stage by participating in The 15th CUPT-CRISU Conference 2024, held from October 3rd to 4th, 2024, at the Arnoma Grand Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. This event carried the theme “Charting the Path to Sustainable Universities: A Holistic Approach to ESG Integration,” aiming to strengthen the role of universities in integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
In this event, ITK was represented by its Rector, Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Agus Rubiyanto, who served as a panelist in the Commentary Panel session titled "Keynotes: Highlights and Priorities for Activities." This session featured five academic leaders and experts from Southeast Asia, including:
The discussion session was moderated by Asst. Prof. Romyen Kosaikanont, Director of SEAMEO RIHED, and addressed strategic issues that are crucial for advancing ESG programs within universities.
Prof. Dr. Agus Rubiyanto, as ITK’s Rector, emphasized ITK's commitment to implementing sustainable programs aligned with the conference’s focus. "ITK is committed to integrating ESG principles into the academic and operational activities of the campus as part of our responsibility in creating a more sustainable and innovative university," he stated during the discussion session.
The Rector was accompanied by the Head of the Department of Food Science, Technology, and Maritime Studies, Alamsyah, S.T., M.T., and a representative from ITK’s Student Executive Body (BEM), Salma Yanda Asmara from the Industrial Engineering program, who also participated in the event, strengthening ITK’s involvement in the global educational community. This event served as a crucial moment for ITK to expand its international network and explore opportunities for academic and research collaborations with renowned institutions in Southeast Asia.
The CUPT-CRISU Conference is an annual platform that brings together university leaders from Thailand and Indonesia to discuss and share experiences on current issues in higher education, including challenges and solutions related to ESG integration.
