Balikpapan, June 17, 2026 – The enthusiasm for pursuing a brighter future was evident among the students of Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) ID 0538 Imanuel Muara Asa, Kutai Barat Regency, during their educational visit to the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK). A total of 15 high school students, accompanied by 8 tutors and mentors, had the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into campus life, academic programs, and pathways to higher education.
Held at the ITK Auditorium, Building A, the group was warmly welcomed by Muhammad Nurhidayatur Rozikin and Saputro Dewo from ITK’s Public Relations and Protocol Office, along with Rizky Meilan from the Academic Affairs Bureau. The visit was designed to provide students with knowledge, motivation, and a realistic understanding of higher education as they prepare to make important decisions about their future after graduating from high school.
During the campus introduction session, participants learned about ITK as a growing public university that plays a strategic role in supporting the development of Kalimantan, particularly in the era of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development. Information regarding academic programs, campus facilities, student organizations, scholarship opportunities, and graduate career prospects was presented through an engaging and interactive discussion.
In addition to learning about campus life, students received comprehensive information on ITK’s New Student Admission (PMB) process, including national admission pathways, strategies for selecting the right study program based on individual interests and talents, and practical tips for preparing for university entrance examinations.
One of the most memorable moments of the visit came when it was revealed that one of the participants, Elin, had successfully been admitted to ITK’s Food Technology Study Program through the 2026 National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway. Her achievement served as a powerful source of inspiration and demonstrated that dedication, academic excellence, and perseverance can open the door to higher education opportunities.
Elin’s success story motivated the other students, showing that for young people from Muara Asa and other remote communities, attending university is not merely a dream but an achievable goal through determination and careful preparation.
Through this activity, ITK hopes to encourage more young people across Kalimantan to pursue higher education and dare to dream big. The educational visit also reflects the spirit of “Impactful ITK (ITK Berdampak)”, which emphasizes delivering meaningful benefits to society through education, information dissemination, and youth empowerment.
By bringing home new experiences, knowledge, and inspiration, the students of PPA Imanuel Muara Asa are expected to become more confident in planning their futures and preparing themselves to contribute to their communities, the nation, and Indonesia’s development.
