Balikpapan, September 3, 2025 – In commemoration of its 11th Anniversary, the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) organized a magnificent competition event, ITK SMARTEFST 2025. This event was part of the anniversary series designed to foster creativity, innovation, and a competitive spirit among active students from various schools throughout East Kalimantan.
The ITK SMARTEFST 2025 event was officially opened by the Head of the Anniversary Committee and Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, Adi Mahmud Jaya Marindra, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., with great significance. In his speech, he emphasized the important role of the younger generation in advancing technology and science, and encouraged all participants to use this event as a platform to hone their skills and build connections.
ITK SMARTEFST 2025 offered four competition fields designed to test a variety of talents and interests. Three of these, namely the Techno Competition, Paper Competition, and Poster Competition, took place on September 2, 2025. Meanwhile, the Smart Clash competition was held on September 3, 2025.
Participant Enthusiasm and Event Vibrancy
From the very first day, the event was lively and full of spirit. Participants showed extraordinary enthusiasm in vying for the champion title in each category. The competition rooms were filled with a healthy competitive spirit, where participants not only demonstrated their skills but also shared knowledge and experiences with one another.
ITK SMARTEFST 2025 was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of science and technology. It is hoped that this event can become a regular agenda that inspires more young people in East Kalimantan to continue to innovate and contribute to a better future.
